Erika Bright has been named a partner with Wick Phillips, a full service business law firm based in Dallas. A former partner with Haynes and Boone LLP, Bright specializes in issues related to insurance, construction and commercial litigation.
Recognized as one of the nation’s leading authorities on insurance litigation, Bright represents policyholders in trials and arbitrations against insurance carriers and advises clients on all insurance-related topics, including how to minimize risk, draft indemnity agreements and obtain optimum insurance coverage. She also has a strong track record of success in representing clients in complex business disputes, commercial litigation and construction matters.
Among her many awards and achievements, Bright was recognized in 2012 and 2013 in Texas Super Lawyers—Insurance Coverage, Business Litigation and Construction Litigation, and was also named one of the Best Lawyers in America in Insurance Law, 2013-2014. She holds a JD degree, with distinction, from the University of Oklahoma and is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Insurance Law Section. Bright also was selected as a Texas Bar Foundation Fellow and member of the Higginbotham Inn of Court.
As an accomplished lecturer and author on insurance issues, Bright frequently speaks at industry conferences, events and law schools nationwide. Bright also serves as Faculty Member for Texas Bar CLE’s 2014 Advanced Insurance Law Course and UT Law CLE’s 2014 Annual Insurance Law Institute. She is co-author of the ABA’s Handbook on Additional Insureds and regularly contributes to Law 360 and other publications.
